WE’VE GOT SOMETHING SPECIAL JUST FOR YOU.
Dr. Keith Bechtol, Ph. D. Astrophysicist will be staying at Rabun Manor and available for your questions at a wine and cheese event on Sunday, August 20
A solar eclipse is a lineup of the Sun, the Moon, and Earth. The moon, directly between the Sun and Earth, casts a shadow on our planet.
Why is this event special? This is the first total solar eclipse of the sun in the continental U.S. in 38 years. And, not since 1918 has there been a U.S. coast to coast path for a total solar eclipse. On August 21, 2017 a total eclipse will shadow a 65-mile-wide path through 14 states, beginning in Oregon and exiting the South Carolina coast. It is estimated that, weather permitting, 500 million people will stand in the moon’s shadow on that day.
Book now for our two night package, Saturday August 19-Monday August 21. Eclipse is August 21, 2017 starting at 1:07 with Totality at 2:35 p.m. Ending at 4:01 p.m. Enjoy two nights with the benefit of expert Dr. Keith Bechtol for a Q and A at our Sunday wine and cheese, evening dinner on Saturday and Sunday, breakfast each morning, tee-shirts, protective viewing glasses.
